About Sapphire Foods India Ltd

Sapphire Foods India is one of YUM’s franchisee operators in the Indian subcontinent. It is also Sri Lanka’s largest international QSR chain, in terms of revenue for the financial year 2021 and number of restaurants operated as of March 31, 2021 (with 68 restaurants representing 39% of the total number of outlets in the market). It has also established a presence in the Maldives. As of June 30, 2021, it owned and operated 209 KFC restaurants in India and the Maldives, 239 Pizza Hut restaurants in India, Sri Lanka and the Maldives, and two Taco Bell restaurants in Sri Lanka. The company aspires to be India’s best restaurant operator by serving customers great food with great experience at great value. It operates its restaurants in high traffic and high visibility locations in key metropolitan areas and cities across India and develops new restaurants in new cities as part of its brand and food category expansion.

The company has an in-house supply chain function, and it work with its vendor partners for food ingredients, packaging, warehousing and logistics with the goal of providing its restaurants with the optimum level of inventory at the highest level of quality in a standardized and cost efficient manner. It operate warehouses across five cities in India to service its restaurants in India, and has invested in building technology solutions including a restaurant-level SAP enterprise resource planning (ERP) system and POS software solutions in its restaurants. It has also adopted YUM’s global online and digital channel solutions to enhance customer experience in both its physical and digital restaurants and achieve operating efficiency and financial controls within its organization. Its operational excellence in areas such as hygiene and food safety have allowed it to respond to the serious disruptions it faced during the COVID-19 pandemic.
