Gillette India was incorporated in India as Indian Shaving Products Limited in 1984. P&G acquired the Company in the year 2005. The company is engaged in manufacturing and selling of branded packaged fast moving consumer goods in the grooming and oral care businesses. It is one of the well-known FMCG companies that has in its portfolio Gillette, Braun and Oral-B, which are world’s leading brands. 

The company’s grooming portfolio includes brands like Gillette Guard, Gillette Labs, Gillette Mach 3, Gillette Fusion, Gillette Venus, Gillette Shaving foams and Braun. The company’s comprehensive grooming portfolio continues to offer wide range of products-from traditional hassle-free shaving solutions; to advanced styling and shaping tools; and electronic grooming devices, as well as comfortable shaving experience to the female grooming needs, ensuring it meet the unique requirements of every consumer.

The company’s Oral Care portfolio serves a diverse range of consumers and their unique needs, with an assortment of products - featuring from gentle to deep clean, special range for children, and an advanced power-oral care range. Gillette India is engaged in manufacturing and selling of branded packaged fast moving consumer goods in the grooming and oral care businesses and serves consumers with trusted and quality brands, including Gillette, Braun and Oral-B. The company’s distribution channels, inter alia, include distributors, modern retail stores, canteen stores, pharmacies and e-commerce platforms. The company's products are sold through retail operations including mass merchandisers, grocery stores, membership club stores, drug stores, department stores and high frequency stores.

Milestone

  • 1984- Company was incorporated as Indian Shaving Products.
  • 1990-91- In order to manufacture 7 O'clock Ejtek PII Twin Blade Shaving System, company expanded it capacity.
  • 1993- On February, company launched Gillette Shaving Products.
  • 1995-96- Gillette India introduced readyshaver under the brand name 7 O'clock Ready II.
  • 1995-96- Company entered into distribution agreement and launched internationally known brand Oral B.
  • 2000- Company rechristened as Gillette India after merger of Duracell (India) and Wilkinson Sword India with itself.
  • 2001- Company introduced product line namely Gillette Series Arctic Ice.The same year company launched the Gillette Series Satin Care for Women Wild Berry Line, the Cool Blue Mach 3 and Gillette Centennial Packs.
  • 2003-Gillette Vector Plus and Ultra M3AA batteries were launched.
  • 2004-Gillette Mach3 Turbo- triple blade shaving system was launched.
  • 2005-Gillette Company, USA was acquired by Procter & Gamble Company, USA. Gillette India became part of Procter & Gamble Company, USA.
  • 2006-07- In order to manufacture blades and razors, the company established a manufacturing unit at at Baddi in Himachal Pradesh.
  • 2014- Gillette changes the landscape of manscaping with the first razor built for the male terrain-Gillette Body.                                   
  • 2014- Gillette Fusion Proglide with FlexBall Technology Razor is the next evolution in the shaving revolution- a pivoting razor built to maximize contact with every contour of a man’s face.
  • 2016 - The company has launched next Innovation Venus Breeze, a 2 in 1 product with moisturizing gel bars to further accelerate this category
  • 2017 - The company has launched a new product ‘Simply Venus’, a 3-blade disposable razor, catering to the grooming needs of female consumers.
  • 2017 - The company has launched India’s first Neem infused toothbrush.
