The company was initially incorporated on January 24, 2000 under the name 'Global e-Com (India) Private Limited' under The Companies Act 1956. The Company was converted into a public Limited Company with effect from February 8, 2000 and the name of the Company was changed to Global e-Com (India) Limited. Thereafter on April 11, 2000 name of the Company was again changed to 'Balwas e-Com India Limited'. Finally in November 2004 name of the Company was again changed to its present name 'IT People (India) Limited'
IT People is a Company promoting Software Products and Solutions to Capital and Commodities Markets and IT consulting services and solutions to companies worldwide.
Software Products include Products, Solutions and Services division for the Financial and Capital Markets addressing Stock and Commodities Exchanges, Intermediary Brokerage Houses, Merchant Banking operations and Financial Services in India and overseas.
The IT Consulting Services division focuses on key technologies and promoted the Extended Offsite Delivery Center model. The division also provides services of facilities Management and Managed services.
In 2007the company acquired 100% stake in Marketplace Technologies Pvt. Ltd, formerly known as ENC Software Solutions Pvt. Ltd., a closely held company, and the eventual amalgamation of it in to IT People.
IT People (India) Ltd has entered in to strategic ‘Business Buyout’ agreement with Cyberwerx in India, in 2008. The alliance has resulted in the transfer of ownership and performance of existing business contracts and related assets including employees to IT People. The deal is expected to enhance IT People’s IT Consulting business and give a direct access to some of the top telecom clients and therefore strengthen the company’s initiative to expand its presence in telecom vertical, testing, security, technical writing and networking. Some of the Cyberwerx leading multinational clients are Nokia-Siemens, Airvana, CISCO, etc.
