About Mukta Arts Ltd

Mukta Arts (MAL), incorporated 1982, was founded by the well known Bollywood director Subhash Ghai. The company is engaged in various areas of film making such as production, distribution, exhibition,and imparting education.

Mukta Arts, well known in Hindi film industry, has directed many blockbuster movies namely Karz, Hero, Karma, Ram Lakhan, Saudagar, Khalnayak, Pardes, Taal and Yaadein. Besides this, it has produced films like Jogger’s Park, Aitraaz, Iqbal and Black & White.

The company also has control over 50 multiplexes with 200 screens and 40 single screens in north India. This acts as the company's strength in area of distribution and exhibition for its own films.

The company also operates an education institute under the name Whistling Woods International, where students are trained to specialise in several area of movie making process.

In 2011 MuktaArts - Acquired the Distribution Rights of English Film "Sanctum", The same year Mukta Arts launched "Mukta A2 Cinemas" - a cost effective multiplex movie- watching experience with competitive ticket pricing, with its first cineplex rollout at Centresquare Mall, Vadodara on July 15th.
In 2012 Mukta Cinemas commenced operations at its second multiplex, based at Gulmohur Mall, Ahmedabad.

Business Division

Distribution and Exhibition: Mukta Arts started its business operations with distribution and exhibition. The company has released several movies namely Black & White, Aap Ka Suroor, Shaka Laka Boom Boom, Rush Hour-3, Harry Potter & The Order of the Phoenix, Die Hard, Shivaji - The Boss, The Train, Darling, Aggar, Naya Daur (Colour), Kya Love Story Hai and Good Boy Bad Boy.

Production Services: The company also offers production services as it provides extensive production facilities to other production houses. Under production facilities it provides Generator vans, Arri III, Arricam cameras with Hawk Lens, Lights, Grip equipments, Remote control pheonix crane, Height 48ft and location Sync sound system.

Education- The company’s institute Whistling Woods International provides education in areas of acting, art and technique of animation, producing, cinematography, direction, editing, screenwriting, sound recording and design and music production. The company has academic advisory board that includes film personalities Naseeruddin Shah, Hema Malini, Rakeysh Mehra, Shah Rukh Khan, Shiamak Davar, Shabana Azmi, A.R. Rahman and many more.
