The company is committed to Global Quality Systems : ISO 9001:2000 Certification for the production facilities of Fibres, Polymers and Preforms ; Committed to Environment, Health and Safety : ISO 14001:1996 for the PET Recycling facilities.

SPECIALITY PET RESINS - PRODUCT RANGE :

  • Futura ClearPET -   General Purpose packaging of beverage containers for CSD / Water and Sheet Extrusion / Thermoforming, requiring excellent clarity.
  • Futura FastPET  -  High Speed blow moulding applications (Fast Reheat) for CSD/ Water, requiring good clarity and sheet extrusion, and requiring excellent processability.
  • Futura NuBarPET -  Customised Resin for High Barrier Mono -Layer applications such as 200-250 ml CSD beverages with improved shelf life; UV barrier peroperty can be customised as required.
  • Futura Clear FastPET -  As good as normal Fast Reheat Resin, with excellent colour values and no greyish tone.
  • Futura GreenPET -   Contains 20% PCRPET input on Glycolysis route, with Fast Reheat properties , for High Speed Blow Moulding of CSD / Water Prefroms and Sheet Extrusion / Thermoforming applications requiring  excellent processability. 
  • Futura WavePET -  Sheet Extrusion and Thermoforming applications for Dual Ovenable Trays and similar products; Nucleating and energy efficient Grades also available.
  • Futura JarPET  -  Gallon Jars requiring excellent clarity and processability with excellent scratch resistance and 60 oC ‘hot wash’ properties.
  • Futura JarPETN -  Gallon Jars requiring excellent clarity and processability with excellent scratch resistance and 75 oC ‘hot wash’ properties, as also 360nm UV Barrier as good as Poly Carbonate.
  • Futura HotPET -  Hot fill applications upto 88 oC on Heat Set Blow Moulded bottles and 82 oC on normal blow moulded bottles; Higher glass transition temperature, higher crystallinity, Low shrinkage and UV barrier properties. 
  • Futura EcoPET -  Antimony free Homo Polymer for “eco-label” packaging: Hot Fill 88 oC without Crystalised neck, CSD ; Water and Sheet Extrusion / Thermoforming, Excellent clarity and Customised easy processability; 100% Heavy Metal free option.
  • Futura EBMPET -  Wide range of Customised Extrusion Blow Moulding applications; High melt strength and optimum processability.

  • Futura PEN  -  High performance packaging, fibres, films and Engineering Thermo Plastics; Refillable and Returnable Beverage / Beer bottles; Heat resistant and UV resistant bottles; High performance speciality Film applications. 
  • Futura PETN  -   For high barrier and high heat containers and other niche applications.
  • Futura PBT  -   Injection moulding /Compounding / customised applications.   -B 1.20 
  • Futura PBN  -  High barrier resistance for Petro Fuel parts and intricate High end Moulding applications. 
  • Futura CPTT  -  Clear PTT polymer for Fibres / Filaments for Carpets, Films and ETP 
  • Futura DPTT -   Delustered PTT for Textile applications
  • Futura PTN  -   High CO2 / O2 barrier applications in Packaging and ETP. 
  • Futura BeerPET  - Mono layer bottles for Beer Packaging with capability for high CO2 barrier and Tunnel Pasteurisation. Compatible with all Oxygen Scavengers including Amosorb.

The standard product is a 30% carbon PET master batch (specifications given below). Master Batches in PET, PBT and Co-Polyesters are available.

  • 1963  Alcohol based chemicals manufacturing at Khopoli
  • 1972  Polyester Fibre manufacturing at Chennai (6000 TPA) 
  • 1978 R & D achievement on RPET/RPBT/DMT/Glycolysis: Recycling of Fibrous waste into Fibres commercialized.
  • 1986  Sonata Software Division launched.
  • 1987  Polyester Expansion :38500 TPA Fibres and 9000 TPA Filament Yarn
  • 1988  Speciality Fibres (Tow / Tops) / Dope Dyed Black Fibres launched; R & D achievement on PTA Recovery Technology.
  • 1993  Futura Polymers Limited (FPL) launched – JV between Pepsico Inc U.S.A & IOCL ; PET Resin (28000 TPA) ; Preforms (3500 TPA)
  • 1994  'Sonata Software Limited '- hived off ; Filament Yarn Plant closed; Master Batch Chips’ plant Commissioned.
  • 1998  Futura Polymers Limited (FPL) becomes 100% subsidiary of IOCL. 
  • 2001  Preforms Expansion to 12000 TPA (6 M/Cs) completed. Speciality PET Range launched. Preforms Expansion to 20000 TPA (9 M/Cs) completed.
  • 2002  Name changed to Futura Polyesters Limited; Innovassynth Technologies India Ltd. launched, after closure of A’lcs-Chemical business; PET Resin capacity expanded from 28000 TPA to 57000 TPA.
  • 2003  PET Specialities: Fast Reheat, Hot Fill, JarPET and 20% PCRPET resins launched.
  • 2004  PTT and PEN manufacture commercialized; Heavy Metal Free PET, Beer PET, “Clear “ Fast Reheat PET, PENT, PBN and PTN developed.
  • 2006  Hotfill Resin for Fruit Juice containers without crystalised neck developed. `VFlex' Staple Fibre, High Shrink Film PET and EPTT for Engineering Thermo Plastics developed.
  • 2007  New Barrier PET Resin for small CSD containers and pasteurizable PETN Resin developed; 300 plus shades of color Fibres and Hi Shrink Fibre launched; transfer of Chemical Division to Innovassynth Technologies India Ltd. completed.
  • 2008  CrysPET and NuPET range of resins for high crystalanity and high barrier use developed. Flame Retardant Fibre and high shrink Fibre commercialized.
  • 2011  Futura Polyesters has incorporated a wholly owned subsidiary Company under the name FPL Property Developers Pvt. Ltd.
