The company’s range of properties includes everything from charming hotels and luxurious resorts in popular tourist hotspots to sophisticated service apartments and business-oriented hotels in bustling metropolitan areas. 

The company generally manages properties under long-term operating leases (10-20 years). The refurbishment and rebranding are completed during the rent-free period of 3-6 months, followed by a focus on better management, marketing, and distribution capabilities across room sales and F&B/event revenues. Besides, the company is committed to offering an exclusive vegetarian dining experience in its restaurants and banquets. This choice resonates with many Indian travellers and international guests alike. This unique focus has positioned The Byke as a favoured destination in the competitive hospitality landscape.

The company was incorporated on March 29, 1990 as ‘Kotawala Financial Consultancy Private Limited’. On March 20, 1995, the company was converted into public limited company with the name of ‘Kotawala Securities Limited’ and in November 1995 offered public to participate in the company's equity by way of its maiden IPO. In 2002, the company launched its ‘Hotels’ business. Further, the name of the company was changed to ‘Suave Hotels’ from ‘Kotawala Securities’ in 2007. The name of the company was again changed to ‘The Byke Hospitality’ from ‘Suave Hotels’ in 2012.

  • 2011: The company decided to create a chain of hotels through a single brand namely ‘The Byke’.
  • 2012: The name of the company was changed to ‘The Byke Hospitality’ from ‘Suave Hotels’.
  • 2012: The company entered into a Lease contract to manage hotels -- The Byke - Old Anchor, Goa and The Byke - Redwood, Matheran, under ‘The Byke’ brand.
  • 2012: The company launched ‘The Ayurvedic Massage & Spa’ in its Hotel, The Byke - Old Anchor, Goa.
  • 2012: The company successfully completed renovation of one of its resorts ‘The Byke - Old Anchor’, Goa.
