FAQs

  • What are small cap funds?
  • Small cap funds invest in companies beyond Top 250 according to average market capitalisation (Rs 10 Crore – Rs 500 Crore). Minimum investment in Equity & Equity-related instruments of Small-Cap companies is 65% of total assets.
  • What percentage of portfolio should be invested in Small Cap Funds?
  • Small cap stocks have the ability to grow twice or thrice their size within a few years, given their small size. However, the return from these funds is also subject to high volatility. The performance of small cap funds is highly inconsistent and can outperform the benchmark only when invested right at the start of the Bull Run. However, these funds are also the ones to lose maximum value in a bear market. Thus, we recommend not more then 10-15% of your portfolio should be invested in Small cap funds/stocks.
