About Kamanwala Housing Construction Ltd

Kamanwala Housing Construction company was incorporated in 1984 as Kamanwala Housing Development Finance Company by its visionary promoter M.L. Gupta along with associates Jaipal Jain and Atul Jain. The company’s principal activity is the construction and sale of residential houses and commercial buildings.

The company launched its public issue in March 1986 through which Rs. 18 mn were raised. Its shares were listed on BSE. The name of the company was changed to Kamanwala Industries Limited in January 1995. The company entered into the production of steel ingots to cater to its own construction requirements. The company does not undertake this activity any longer.

Kamanwala Housing Construction Limited (KHCL) is a company with a 20-year track record. Apart from being an established company, KHCL has a lean and efficient organisation structure. The latest technology, an attractive pricing policy, adherence to schedule and high quality are hallmarks of the company.

The projects executed by the company have a futuristic design, with a fine fusion of aesthetics and functionality. The projects are distinguished by the high quality of construction and attention to detail. Moreover, they are all located in prime areas.

To cater to middle class buyers, they undertook both to construct low cost housing and to finance it at nominal rates. Attar Apartments and Kamanwala Nagar at Virar were built under this program.

Apart from this, the company acquired some old buildings and tenements, which were repaired and renovated. The ownership rights were then transferred to the tenants at reasonable rates. Due to the economical rates at which these buildings were acquired, the projects were profitable for the company. Moreover, the affordable price of conversion from tenancy to ownership compelled many tenants to take up the offer.

One of the first such projects was the well known Kamanwala Chambers at Fort, Mumbai. Formerly Advani Chambers, this commercial building was converted in 1985.  Kamani Chambers at Ballard Estate is another building which was taken up for renovation and conversion of tenancy to occupancy.

From the low cost housing projects it started out with, the company has now transitioned to executing prestigious projects of high quality in prime locations. The projects that the company has planned to execute in the future are characterized by larger areas being taken up for development than has been the case in the past. The company has changed its name to Kamanwala Housing Construction Limited, to reflect the focus on its core activity, construction.

The company is currently implementing prestigious projects across central and western Mumbai - Bandra Kurla Complex, Andheri, Santa Cruz, Malad and Versova.
