Sky Industries Limited was incorporated on July 18, 1989 as Fine Velvets and Plastofabs Private Limited with Registrar of Companies Maharashtra. It was subsequently converted into a public limited company on  March 17, 1993. The name of the company was changed to Sky Industries Limited by passing special resolution in the Extra Ordinary General Meeting held on May 10,1993.

The company belongd to the S K Group of Companies, with interests in a wide spectrum of activities from  indenting to sale of machines to global trade. Established in 1984 based on ideals of excellence, customer trust, social welfare and high quality products & services. Their projected turnover for the year 2001-02 is around Rs 960 million. The initial promoters of the group were Nitin Motani (Chairman), Shailesh Shah (Managing director), Saurabh Motani (Director) and Sharad Shah (Director).

Sky Industries Ltd. is India's largest manufacturer of hook and loop tape fasteners with a monthly production capacity of 86 lac meters from their state of art manufacturing facility at New Bombay. They are also the largest manufacturer of all kinds of elastics and other narrow fabrics and recipient of Golden Trophy from the Government of India, for the highest exports from India.

In testimony of their quality of product and service they are privileged to enjoy a major market share in the hook and loop tape fastener industry. Encouraged by the response to hook and loop tape, we diversified into manufacturing of other Narrow Fabrics, by setting up a plant in Special Economic Zone ( Export Zone ) (SEZ), Sachin, near Surat.

The company has latest Infrastructure and is equipped with the best plant and machinery, rigorous quality control is maintained and products confirm to international Standards . They are also in the process of Launching their own Satin ribbons in different colurs and widths manufactured from their ultra modern plant at New Bombay. As on date they are proud to serve the top manufacturers of over 38 different industrial sectors with their wide range of products. They also substantially export to U.S. Canada, Latin American countries, EU nations and many other nations all over the world.
