J&K Bank rises on inking pact with Tata Motors for car finance

Jammu & Kashmir Bank (J&K Bank) is currently trading at Rs. 906.50, up by 4.20 points or 0.47% from its previous closing of Rs. 902.30 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 904.55 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 908.45 and Rs. 901.55 respectively.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1010.00 on 02-Jul-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 645.00 on 15-Dec-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 928.40 and Rs. 881.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 4,394.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 53.17% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 29.49% and 17.34% respectively.

Tata Motors, country’s largest commercial vehicle maker has inked pact with J&K Bank for financing its passenger vehicle customers. As per the agreement J&K Bank will be one of the preferred retail financiers of Tata Motors’ passenger car business and will provide loan facility of up to seven years, with maximum funding to eligible Tata Motors customers.

On standalone basis, the bank has reported a rise of 35.00% in its net profit at Rs 246.09 crore for first quarter ended June 30, 2012, as compared to Rs 182.29 crore for the same quarter in the previous year.  Total income of the bank has increased by 39.77% to Rs 1569.53 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 1122.91 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2011.

Gross non-performing assets (NPAs) decline to 1.60% in the April-June quarter as against 1.97% in the same quarter previous year while, net NPAs decreased to 0.14%.
