Compact Disc India trades higher on the bourses

Compact Disc India is currently trading at Rs. 23.20, up by 0.25 points or 1.09% from its previous closing of Rs. 22.95 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 24.05 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 24.05 and Rs. 22.95 respectively. So far 6329 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'T' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 39.85 on 11-Oct-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 14.90 on 04-Sep-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 24.40 and Rs. 20.90 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 30.35 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 19.43% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 0.02% and 80.55% respectively.

Compact Disc India has received an approval whereby the company will focus only on Animation Outsourcing business. The board at its meeting held on October 05, 2012 has approved for the same. All other present and future business activities will be carried on by independent subsidiaries. The company will expand and diversify into production of Hindi Films and Renewable Energy.

Besides, the company has decided to set-up two 10MW Solar Power Projects each in the State of Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan. These projects are likely to be commissioned by June 2013 and August 2013 respectively. The company has already secured suppliers’ credit for the above projects. Each project will generate around 16 million of electricity units per annum. The company is also working on Wind Energy Power Project.

Compact Disc India is engaged in multimedia and entertainment production in India and has extensive expertise in creation, distribution and management of contents for media and entertainment sector with its strong presence in India, Malaysia and Singapore.
