Lakshmi Vilas Bank advances on reporting 16% increase in Q2 net profit

Lakshmi Vilas Bank is currently trading at Rs. 98.00, up by 0.25 points or 0.26% from its previous closing of Rs. 97.75 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 97.75 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 98.85 and Rs. 96.20 respectively. So far 6567 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 139.00 on 10-Nov-2010 and a 52 week low of Rs. 85.05 on 10-Feb-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 102.05 and Rs. 96.10 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 953.32 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 11.47% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 19.67% and 68.86% respectively. 

Private sector lender Lakshmi Vilas Bank (LVB) has reported results for the second quarter ended September 30, 2011.

The bank has reported an 16% jump in net profit to Rs 29 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2011, against Rs 25 crore for the July-September quarter of 2010. Total income of the bank rose by 39.02% to Rs 411.50 crore during the quarter from Rs 296 crore in the same quarter last fiscal.

The gross non-performing assets (NPAs) of the South India-based lender decreased to Rs 197 crore during the quarter from Rs 264 crore in the corresponding year-ago period.
