Borana Weaves commences additional 108 looms in Unit 4

Borana Weaves has commenced additional 108 looms at Unit 4, three months ahead of the proposed December schedule. The total capex for Unit 4 shall be Rs 71.35 crore allocated from IPO proceeds and will house 348 state-of-the-art water jet looms with a production capacity of 112.75 million meters per annum (9.39 million meters per month). With the commencement of operations, 300 looms are already running at the Unit, while the remaining 48 water jet looms are expected to be operational by October 2025.  

The new unit will manufacture Greige cloth, further strengthening Borana Weaves’ overall annual capacity to 346 million meters across its manufacturing footprint. With the addition of Unit 4, the company is set to strengthen its position in the Synthetic Greige Fabrics market, increasing its market share from 20-25% to nearly 25-30%, while improving operating margins and enhancing its ability to cater to both domestic and international customers. Unit 4 is powered by High-Speed Water Jet Weaving looms, which are inherently more eco-friendlier compared to conventional weaving technologies, reinforcing the company’s focus on sustainable operations.
