OBC to raise Tier II Capital to extent of Rs 1,000 crore

Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC) is planning to raise Tier II Capital to the extent of Rs 1,000 crore through issue of Basel III compliant Tier II Bonds on private placement basis.

The bank has reported 31.28% fall in its net profit at Rs 224.30 crore for third quarter ended December 31, 2013 as compared to Rs 326.40 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income of the bank has increased by 4.48% at Rs 5063.98 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 4846.54 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2012.

The bank’s gross NPA for the December 31, 2013 quarter of the current fiscal stood at 3.87%, as compared to 2.98% in the same quarter of the previous year. Besides, bank’s Net NPA increased to 2.91% as compared to 2.14% in the same quarter of the previous year.
