BIFR declares Todays Writing as sick company

Board for Financial and Industrial Reconstruction (BIFR) has declared Todays Writing Instruments as sick company within the meaning of section 3(o) of SICA, Act 1985. The company is continually making losses from last five years.  The company has reported a net loss of Rs 2.83 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2013 as compared to a net loss of Rs 3.57 crore for the same quarter in the previous year.

BBIFR is an agency of the government of India, part of the Department of Financial Services of the Ministry of Finance. BBIFR objective is to determine sickness of industrial companies and to assist in reviving those that may be viable and shutting down the others.

Todays Writing Products (TWPL), incorporated in 1992, is engaged in business of manufacturing writing instruments. The company also has business interests in office supplies, oil and gas and construction.
