About Jagatjit Industries Ltd

Jagatjit Industries was founded in the year 1944 by late L PJaiswal in the erstwhile state of Kapurthala under the patronage of its Maharaja Jagatjit Singh. The company manufactures and markets alcoholic beverages, malt, malt extract, malted milk foods, milk powder, ghee, glass and pet containers.    

JIL manufactures the entire range of alcoholic beverages i.e. Whisky, Rum, Gin and Vodka. The company's USP is to provide superior brands to the customers at an affordable price. Ranked as a third largest IMFL (Indian Made Foreign Liquor) producer in the country, JIL's main focus of business lies in manufacture, distribution and sale of IMFL. The company has state-of-the-art manufacturing base which is located in the district of Kapurthala, Punjab. Other manufacturing units owned by JIL or its business associates are located at: 

• Uttar Pradesh  • Rajasthan • Himachal Pradesh • Andhra Pradesh  • Maharashtra  • Tamil Nadu • Kerala  • Pondicherry 

JIL has been aggressively participating in all kinds of promotion campaigns for its wide range of brands. The company has done major campaigns for its brand AC Black and Aristocrat Whisky on the electronic media on all leading TV channels. JIL did 12 fashion shows in association with NIFD to promote its brand equity among the young and young at heart. The company regularly does a lot of other promotions in the form of POP/ Danglers, Posters, Merchandising Items, Glow Signs, Trans-Lights etc. JIL is also regularly featured by the press because of their innovative and gripping promotion campaigns including the exciting, attention grabbing product launches centered around their brand AC Black.

JIL’s R&D Division at Hamira has an integrated multiprojects approach covering the Chemical, Biochemical, Microbiological and Food Technology related research areas of interest to the company apart from maintaining stringent and consistent quality of existing products of the company as also process improvement for newer product development and cost reduction by improving yields of production units. The R&D nucleus unit was established in 1971 at factory's premises at Jagatjit Nagar. The unit is located on approx. 323 sq. meter area and is equipped with most modern instruments viz. Gas Chromatograph, High Performances Liquid Chromatograph, Fluoro Spectrometer, Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer, MilkoScan, etc. The R&D unit has the pilot plant facility such as Single Effect Evaporator, Vacuum Ovens, Aerobic Fermentator, Mixing and Dehydration Reactors, Colloidmill etc.

JIL is one of the few liquor manufacturing companies in the country, which has its own glass container manufacturing facilities. More than 50% of the production of UG is consumed for distilleries. The remaining 50% is used for soft drinks, food products and pharmaceuticals.

JIL is exporting its own products as well as other products to various countries like:
